International comparative standards and conversion
To ensure global interchangeability, bearings are manufactured according to internationally harmonised accuracy standards. The world's most important systems originate from Japan, the USA and Europe and define dimensional, shape and running accuracies for ball, roller and tapered roller bearings.
- JIS (Japan): Classification according to Japanese industrial standards with grades 0 – 2.
- ANSI / ABMA (USA): Ball bearings according to accuracy classes ABEC 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, roller bearings according to RBEC 1, 3, 5 and tapered roller bearings in classes 4 – 00.
- DIN / ISO (Europe): Internationally valid standards for the dimensional and running accuracy of bearings, basis for worldwide exchange between manufacturers.
For assistance, a comparison table of the international accuracy classes can be found in the following download: It shows the assignment between JIS, ANSI/ABMA and DIN/ISO systems at a glance.
