Single row angular contact ball bearings are designed to absorb combined radial and axial forces. The oblique contact angle between the raceway and the ball creates stable axial guidance, enabling higher speeds and precise positioning.
These bearings are particularly suitable for applications where rigidity and accuracy are crucial. Depending on the design, they can only accommodate axial forces in one direction, which is why they are often installed in pairs – in an O or X arrangement – to carry axial loads on both sides and achieve optimum system rigidity.
Single-row angular contact ball bearings are available in open and sealed versions. The sealed versions offer protection against contamination and moisture and are pre-filled with a precisely matched grease. This minimises maintenance and extends service life.
