Axial needle roller bearings are flat, high-load-capacity bearing elements designed to absorb axial forces in one direction. They are used when there is limited installation space and no radial loads are acting.
The cages consist of a dimensionally stable metal or plastic cage equipped with needle rollers. They are usually combined with matching axial bearing washers to ensure precise guidance and even load distribution. Various washer designs are available for this purpose: AS washers as particularly thin thrust washers and LS washers with a reinforced design for higher requirements.
